AT&T Global Wi-Fi App Reviews

Complete junk

Ive tried it in multiple countries and cannot get the app to automatically connect to the roaming partner wifi network. Basically when a person buys a AT&T data roaming package they should think only in terms of the cellular data they are buying since the wifi is completely worthless.

Pass on this useless app

It was recommended that I use this crapapp with my data plan for time I was going to be on the UK, what a complete and utter waste. I deleted it after less than a day of it doing absolutely nothing. More AT&T nonsense.

Never Worked

Ive been trying this app at least three times. It never worked in China. Not even in big cities. Such a pain

AT&T Global Garbage

Im at the airport in London right now. It says there are 2 wifi spots right now. All my settings are as instructed. No connection. Of course. AT&T is and will always be complete garbage. FU-AT&T

A pointless app

Dont even bother with this app. AT&T try to sell it to you before you go abroad as if theyre doing you a favor to help you avoid their exorbitant roaming rates but all this does is what your iPhone already tells you i.e. If theres wifi available. If by some chance, this app finds wifi, it either wont connect automatically or manually, despite following all instructions. if a listed AT&T wifi network requires a username and password, AT&T wont supply it and will instead insist you switch Location Services = "Always" as if thats the silver bullet thatll make this work. Save yourself some exasperation and avoid this app entirely.

Worthless and waste of time

Tried to load app as part of international calling plan. Received an error message when attempting to install the certificate to contact customer support. After spending 50 minutes on the phone with three different representatives including one senior technical advisor and his supervisor, was told "Sorry, it looks like we wont be able to resolve the problem. But dont worry, there really arent that many hotspots around the world anyway." Next time start with that answer and save me an hour of my time. A total waste and if the answer is true, a fraudulent service offering.

No value

Traveled to São Paulo and Rio for a week. Unable to connect a single time despite numerous attempts at hotspots labeled as being part of the att Wifi network. Extremely disappointed. Claimed service a fraud.

Nothing works

ATT you can do better. Nothing works!!!

Useless

ATT "required" the use of this app for my recent trip to Israel. However it will only show hotspots from your last wifi connection so its worthless. You can easily connect to any wifi (even ATT hotspots) via normal methods

No wifi hotspots in Banff

One of the top tourist destinations in our closest neighbor, no hotspots. ATT charges $120 for 3 phones to have unlimited SMS for one week vaca in Canada. HUGE ripoff. Would have been partially offset by having wifi, but no. Money grubbing jerks. Next year Ill by Rogers pay as you go SIM. Theyre much cheaper.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD

I am in Europe on Christmas vacation. This app not only isnt beneficial, it somehow modified my phone and PREVENTS ME FROM ACCESSING ANY WIFI! Yes you can imagine. Do not use until they remedy this. Plus in Europe almost everywhere has free wifi, so you can make due with that. I am totally disabled from any internet connection unless I want to pay exorbitant charges. You have been warned.

Never works

This app is terrible. I installed everything, and once I got to Mexico, I saw about 5 networks for the app. "Great!" I thought. None of the networks worked. This just does not work or help with anything.

Unacceptable

AT&T should be ashamed of how terrible this application is. Its a complete joke. There are 12 year olds in SF that can build better applications than this. This app is a complete waste of time.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!

Downloaded this app to use with my AT&T Passport. It actually prevented my phone from connecting to ANY wifi spot while abroad. Once it was deleted and restarted my phone I was able to use all of the same networks. Dont bother with the app while in Europe.

Garbage

This application is garbage and no longer works.

Pure crap

Instead of making it easy to access wifi, the profile makes it impossible to see the providers login screen. I had to uninstall the app and the profile from settings and restart my phone twice to be able to connect and actually use wifi. Avoid it at all costs, you dont need it and it gets in the way. It shows you are connected but no internet access is possible because you have not logged in to the network.

AT&T Should be Embarrassed by this App

This is a worthless app. I was in a major city in Mexico. I tried to use the app and Dublin, Ireland opened. Really? And AT&T is a major communication company! Why does the company keep this app available for downloading!

Worthless

Theres so much I could say, but in short, I downloaded this app for a business trip to London, thinking it simply couldnt be as bad as the reviews suggested. I was wrong. The biggest problem is that you can see nearby hotspots on a map, but theres no way to see if they are close enough to connect to. So you just kind of hope youll connect. And often when you zoom in on the map to get a better look at the closest hotspots, they just disappear from the map entirely. Perhaps in a world where you can get free, reliable wi-fi in every Starbucks and so many other places, this app doesnt really have a purpose.

Better Off without It

I traveled to France with a friend. I had the AT&T passport plan which suggested installing this app and she did not. At many actually free hotspots where validation screens were required, this app suppressed those screens making it impossible for me to use the wifi while my friend was able to connect and validate as intended. Ultimately, it is somewhat nice to be able to see a list of hotspots, but this app does much more harm then it does good, primarily not allowing you to connect to the networks that you could otherwise use. Suggestion: do not download.

Disappointing

I was hoping this app would work, even though the reviews were horrible. We were in Paris for 12 days. We went to the major attractions. This app was worthless. I got the blessed check mark twice. Sometimes it would say it was connected but then the security recommendation would require a password. AT&T needs to fix this or take it down. I read the directions carefully and followed them.
